GX42 RPH Merinos Launches in Türkiye Ahead of Monaco Debut

The first 42m GX42 RPH, Merinos, has launched at SES Yachts in Türkiye ahead of her Monaco Yacht Show 2026 debut, pairing diesel-electric hybrid propulsion with solar and battery technology.

GX Superyachts has launched its first GX42 RPH motor yacht, Merinos, at SES Yachts in Türkiye. The 42-metre aluminium raised-pilothouse yacht will now complete final outfitting and sea trials before her public premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show, taking place from 23 to 26 September 2026. Hybrid propulsion takes centre stage Merinos combines parallel diesel-electric hybrid propulsion with solar arrays and lithium battery storage. YachtBuyer reports that the system is designed to support up to 48 hours of zero-emission operation at anchor and reduce onboard electricity use by up to 45 per cent. The 353GT yacht has an 8.5-metre beam, 1.9-metre draft and a reported top speed of 16 knots. Designed around family cruising Marco Casali of Too Design is responsible for the yacht’s exterior and interior, while NAMES by Francesco Rogantin developed the naval architecture. Accommodation is arranged for up to 10 guests in five cabins, led by an owner’s suite on the main deck. The yacht’s outdoor programme includes a foredeck terrace, open upper deck with bar and Jacuzzi, and a beach club with fold-down sections. Turkish build, Monaco stage The launch places another Turkish-built yacht on the road to Monaco. The GX Superyachts range is planned to cover 24 to 56 metres, with Merinos representing its first physical model after the brand’s 2024 Monaco introduction.
